Illinois State University's Arvid Hjalte and Tin Ostro have been recognized on the 2024 Summit League Academic All-League team for men's tennis. The selection was based on their academic and athletic performances throughout the season.
Hjalte, who has been named to the all-league academic team multiple times, completed his final season with the Redbirds. He partnered with Nam Pham in singles and doubles competitions, achieving a notable 16-9 record in doubles. Hailing from Falkenberg, Sweden, Hjalte holds a degree in business information systems with a cumulative GPA of 3.87.
Ostro earned his first Academic All-League honor following a successful second season with Illinois State. The Zagreb, Croatia native achieved a 13-9 singles record and maintained a perfect 4.00 GPA in business information systems.
Eligibility for the Academic All-League team requires student-athletes to maintain at least a 3.30 GPA, complete one full academic year at their institution, and participate in half of their team's competitions. Nominations were submitted by sports information directors from institutions within the league that sponsor tennis programs.
