Former Illinois State men's golfer Jeff Kellen concluded his first PGA Tour event with a strong performance. The 2011 ISU alumnus went three strokes under par over his final 12 holes, ending with a one-over 72 in the last round.

Kellen's performance included a birdie on his seventh hole, which initiated a series of three birdies and nine pars. This effort reduced his overall score from +4 to +1, earning him the best score among his group that featured PGA professionals Alex Smalley and Ben Kohles.

Kellen secured his spot by finishing in the top-20 at the PGA Professional Championship. He is currently the head professional at Northshore Country Club.

His second round saw him carding a 71 after an opening round of 87. Kellen becomes the third former Redbird to participate in one of the PGA's four "Majors," following Tim Sipula and D.A. Weibring.
