Illinois State University has finalized its men's basketball roster for the 2024-25 season with the addition of Cameron Barnes, a former three-star recruit who previously played at Ole Miss. Head coach Ryan Pedon expressed enthusiasm about Barnes joining the team.

"Cameron brings many attributes to our roster that we were in search of," said Pedon. "He is a very talented young player that will bring real length and athleticism to our current roster. Like all of our forwards, he is versatile and can impact the game in a variety of ways. He has played in winning programs throughout his career and is eager to prove himself at the college level. We're excited about his future and the prospects of what he can become as he develops in our program."

Barnes hails from Duncanville, Texas, where he made significant contributions during his high school career at Duncanville High School. His high school team was consistently ranked among the top nationally over four years. In his senior year, they achieved a 28-1 record with Barnes averaging 8.6 points, five rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game.

In addition to Barnes' arrival, Illinois State's new recruits include guards Boden Skunberg and Landon Wolf, forward Caden Boser, as well as All-State freshmen Cade Norris and Jack Daugherty.

The Redbirds aim to leverage these additions for a competitive season ahead.
