Illinois State University's baseball team had five players recognized by the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) for their performances this season. The announcement was made on Monday night, with sophomore Daniel Pacella earning a spot on the First-Team All-MVC.
Pacella, from Mundelein, Illinois, achieved a batting average of .330, hit 11 home runs, and recorded 58 RBIs over 49 games. He is the first player from Illinois State to be named First-Team All-MVC since Ryan Cermak in 2022.
Other players receiving honors include redshirt junior Judah Morris, senior Auggie Rasmussen, and junior Joe Husak, who were all named Honorable Mention All-MVC. Senior Cameron Mabee and junior JT Sokolove were selected for the All-Defensive Team.
Morris hails from Mather, California, and posted a .284 batting average with 12 home runs and 46 RBIs in 51 games. Rasmussen led the team with 15 home runs while hitting .288 overall. Husak made significant contributions as a pitcher with a record of 5-3 across 22 appearances.
Sokolove earned his defensive accolade by recording 149 putouts and an assist. Meanwhile, Mabee led the MVC with four runners picked off during his pitching duties.
The selections were determined by polling the conference's ten head coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own athletes.
