Five Redbirds participated in the NCAA West Preliminary Round in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Senior Radoffa Braziel competed in the 400m dash, starting in lane two of the second heat. Braziel completed the race with a time of 46.33 seconds, securing the 20th position.
Senior Mathis Chavand ran in the 5,000m event and finished 19th with a time of 14:51.81. The day concluded with the Redbird 4x400m relay team finishing 21st, clocking a time of 3:08.67.
The competition continues with three women athletes from Illinois State University set to compete on the final day. Senior Macy Byer will start her event in discus at 1:00 p.m.
