College Sports Communicators has recognized four Illinois State baseball players on its Academic All-District team. The honorees include senior Greg Nichols, redshirt junior Judah Morris, junior Noah Rabin, and sophomore Daniel Pacella.
The 2023-24 Academic All-District Baseball Teams highlight student-athletes for their performance both in sports and academics. This program recognizes students from NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA divisions.
"Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot," according to the organization. First-, second-, and third-team selections will be announced on July 2.
To qualify for this recognition, athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50 and meet certain playing time criteria. Schools can nominate up to five athletes each.
Greg Nichols is a senior infielder from Roseville, California. He was named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team in 2023 and holds a 3.67 GPA in Criminal Justice Sciences. In 2024, he played in 47 games with a batting average of .239.
Judah Morris is a redshirt junior first baseman from Mather, California. He received an All-MVC Honorable Mention selection in 2024 and maintains a GPA of 3.73 in Exercise Science. Morris played in 55 games with a batting average of .287.
Noah Rabin is a junior utility player from Sebastopol, California. He was named to the MVC All-Tournament Team and has a GPA of 3.75 in Art. Rabin hit .303 over 49 games during the season.
Daniel Pacella is a sophomore outfielder from Mundelein, Illinois who was named to the All-MVC First Team in 2024 while maintaining a perfect GPA of 4.00 in Physical Education Teacher Education.
