Illinois State University's baseball team has continued its tradition of academic excellence with two players being recognized on the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Scholar-Athlete Teams. Sophomore Daniel Pacella and redshirt junior Judah Morris have been honored for their academic and athletic achievements.

Daniel Pacella, an outfielder from Mundelein, Illinois, was named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete First-Team. This marks the 16th consecutive year that Illinois State has had at least one student-athlete on the First Team. Pacella, who is pursuing a degree in Physical Education Teacher Education, maintains a perfect 4.00 GPA. On the field, he achieved a .328 batting average with 28 extra-base hits, including 12 home runs. His performance also placed him seventh in single-season RBIs in program history with 61.

Judah Morris received recognition on the MVC Scholar-Athlete Second Team. The first baseman from Mather, California holds a 3.73 GPA in Exercise Science. In his athletic endeavors, Morris hit .287 with 34 extra-base hits and recorded 18 doubles during the season.

The scholar-athlete teams were selected by sports information directors from each MVC program. Valparaiso University holds the second-longest active streak of having players named to these teams for seven years.
