Recent Illinois State graduate Parker Wisdom has been honored by the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) as a member of the Scholar-Athlete Team. The announcement was made by the MVC office on Tuesday morning.
Wisdom is among nine golfers in the conference to receive First Team honors, with seven others named to the Second Team.
Hailing from Bloomington, Illinois, Wisdom participated in all 32 rounds this season for the Redbirds. He achieved a season stroke average of 72.8, marking it as the 11th-lowest for a season in program history. Twelve of his rounds were at or under par, tying him for the 18th-most in a single season in school history. His best tournament score of 208 was recorded at the Hawkeye Invitational on April 13-14, and he managed a tournament score of 220 or under in six out of eleven tournaments.
During his second round at the Island Resort Intercollegiate, Wisdom scored a career-low 66, leading to what was then his career-best tournament score of 211 and tying him for 11th place. Throughout five tournaments, his aggregate scores were at or below par. He also secured four top-20 finishes during the year, including tying for sixth place at the Hawkeye Invitational. Wisdom emerged as ISU's top finisher at the 2024 MVC Championship and is recognized as a three-time Golf Coaches Association of America All-American Scholar award recipient.
With a career stroke average of 74.134, Wisdom ranks as having the 11th-lowest average in program history. His record includes achieving par or better in 29 career rounds—the ninth-most in school history—and posting a score of 208 which stands as the program's 20th-best tournament score. Additionally, his single-round score of 66 is tied for being the 17th-lowest ever recorded by Redbird men's golf.
