Illinois State University track and field athletes Garrett Taylor and Jacob Klink competed at the USATF U20 Championships held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. The freshmen showcased their skills among some of the nation's top young throwers.
Garrett Taylor participated in the men's discus competition on Wednesday night. He achieved a personal best with his third throw, reaching 54.27 meters (178-00) and securing seventh place overall.
On Thursday, both Taylor and Klink took part in the men's shot put event. Taylor continued his impressive performance by setting another personal best with a throw of 18.01 meters (59-01.25), earning ninth place overall. Klink closely followed, achieving a mark of 17.60 meters (57-09.00) on his final attempt, which placed him 11th in the competitive field.
