Illinois State University's soccer team has announced the addition of five new players for the upcoming 2024 season. This marks the first recruiting class under the leadership of Head Coach Raleigh DeRose.

The new recruits include Ellie Arnold, a midfielder from USC Upstate; Chloe Cline, a defender from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin; Kaya Durkee, a defender from Danville, California; Bella Hanisch, a defender from DePaul University; and Bekah Nielsen, a goalkeeper from Lewis University.

Ellie Arnold joins Illinois State after starting 31 matches over four seasons at USC Upstate. During her time there, she scored two goals and made six assists. Originally from London, England, Arnold has also played at the club level for Arsenal Women FC and other teams.

Chloe Cline attended Hamilton High School where she contributed to multiple regional championships and earned individual accolades in her conference.

Kaya Durkee comes with a strong high school record at Carondelet High School and experience as a team captain for Mustang SC 06 ECNL.

Bella Hanisch brings experience from her three-year tenure at DePaul University where she made significant contributions on the field and was recognized academically.

Bekah Nielsen is returning to her hometown of Normal after two seasons at Lewis University. Last year, she was an All-GLVC Second Team selection with impressive statistics as a goalkeeper.

These additions aim to strengthen the Redbirds' roster as they prepare for the upcoming season under Coach DeRose's guidance.
