Illinois State University junior Mattison Plummer concluded her season at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon. Competing in the women's 3000m steeplechase, Plummer made her national debut on Thursday night at Hayward Field.
Plummer qualified for the NCAA Championship by finishing seventh overall at the NCAA West Preliminary Round in Arkansas. She achieved a personal-best time of 10:11.55, which advanced her to sixth place on Illinois State's all-time top 10 list. Her successful performance at the Drake Relays, where she secured first place with a time of 10:12.83, earned her entry into the NCAA postseason meets. She also finished second at the 2024 MVC Outdoor Championships in this event.
During Thursday's competition, Plummer ran in the second heat and completed the race with a time of 10:15.78, placing her 21st overall and earning Honorable Mention All-America honors.
