Illinois State University has announced the appointment of Logan Moon as an Assistant Coach for its baseball team. Moon will primarily focus on coaching the team's hitters.
Moon joins Illinois State after a four-year tenure at Saint Louis University, where he contributed to significant improvements in the Billiken offense. Under his guidance, the team set new records for runs and RBIs in 2023. During that season, SLU ranked among the top 50 in NCAA Division I baseball for several categories, including runs and on-base percentage.
Before his time at SLU, Moon began his coaching career at Oklahoma Wesleyan University during the 2019-20 season. There, he helped lead the Eagles to top rankings in home runs per game and total runs.
Moon's background includes being drafted by the Kansas City Royals in 2014 and playing up to AAA level over five seasons. He graduated from Missouri Southern State University with a degree in health promotion.
Expressing enthusiasm about his new role, Moon stated: "I'm excited to be a part of the Redbird family. Illinois State has a long history of athletic and academic success."
Head Coach Steve Holm shared his excitement about Moon's addition: "We are thrilled to be able to add such a high caliber coach as Logan Moon to Redbird baseball."
