After a successful series against Carroll University, Illinois Wesleyan University's baseball player Justin Gadomski has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Hitter of the Week. The announcement was made on Monday, April 1st. This is Gadomski's first weekly accolade in his career and marks the fourth time this season that a player from the Titans has received such recognition.
Gadomski played a pivotal role in his team's sweep over Carroll University. Originating from Schaumburg, Illinois, he initiated the scoring with a significant home run during Saturday's first game and contributed key defensive plays to maintain their lead in the second game. Throughout the week, he achieved eight putouts and ten assists while maintaining a .500 batting average along with two doubles.
His performance for the week included going 7-for-14 across four games and achieving an impressive slugging percentage of .857. Additionally, his strategic sacrifice flies were instrumental in pushing the Titans into extra innings, ultimately securing a one-run victory against Carroll.
In terms of conference standings, Gadomski is currently ranked second in doubles and fourth in slugging percentage. He also holds sixth place for hits and seventh for overall batting average.
The Titans are scheduled to return to CCIW play on Wednesday, April 3rd at Elmhurst University with the game commencing at 3 p.m.
