The Illinois Wesleyan University cross country teams participated in the Midwest Regional meet hosted by Aurora University at the Northwestern Medicine Cross Country Course in Geneva, Illinois. The women's team finished 11th with 318 points in the 6k race, while the men's team placed 16th with 512 points in the 8k event.
In the women's competition, Kassie Parker from Loras College secured first place among 207 runners with a time of 21:14.0. Wartburg College won the team championship with 36 points, followed by the University of Chicago with 45 points.
Sophomore Annalese Chudy from Libertyville, Illinois represented Illinois Wesleyan University well by finishing in 20th place with a time of 22:40.40, earning her a spot on the all-region team. Freshman Adriana Crabtree was the second IWU runner to finish, placing 48th with a time of 23:47.50.
On the men's side, Christopher Collet from Wartburg College claimed victory with a time of 25:04.80. North Central College took home the team title with 41 points, while Wartburg and Loras rounded out the top three teams.
Sophomore Nick Fisch led Illinois Wesleyan's men by finishing in 65th place with a time of 26:47.20. Senior J.D. Barrett concluded his collegiate career in 76th place with a time of 27:06.80.
The NCAA will announce if any IWU athletes qualify for an individual spot at the NCAA Championships scheduled for November 19 in Lansing, Michigan.
