The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's cross country teams participated in the Redbird Invite at Illinois State University's Weibring Golf Course on September 15. The event featured a competitive field with athletes from NCAA Division I, Division III, and NJCAA institutions.
In the women's 6-kilometer race, junior Adriana Crabtree led the Titans by finishing 26th out of 111 competitors with a time of 23:03.07. Sophomore Annalese Chudy finished 52nd at 23:43.70. The women's team accumulated 257 points, placing ninth among 12 scoring teams. Illinois State claimed victory with 44 points, while Wartburg College secured second place with 59 points.
For the men's team, junior Nick Fisch finished the 8-kilometer race in 74th position within a field of 132 runners. The men's team ended up in 11th place out of 12 teams, gathering a total of 338 points. Illinois State also won this category with a score of 48 points.
The Titans will next compete at the Don Huston Invite hosted by Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa on September 30. This event will serve as preparation for the NCAA Division III Midwest Regionals scheduled for November.
