The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's cross country teams participated in the Augustana Intercollegiate Invitational held in Rock Island, Illinois. The women's team achieved a 14th-place finish among 40 teams, while the men's team placed 38th out of 42.
Adriana Crabtree from Normal, Illinois, led the women's team with a time of 21:56.8, securing the 12th position in the six-kilometer race. Annalese Chudy from Libertyville followed with a time of 23:09.1, finishing 58th in a field of 394 runners.
The women's team accumulated 468 points for their placement. The University of Chicago, ranked No.1 nationally, won the meet with 48 points, followed by Wartburg College with 68 points.
On the men's side, Zack Daniel from Barrington was the first to complete the eight-kilometer race for his team with a time of 26:29.6, placing him at 181st out of 453 participants. The men's team scored a total of 1,164 points to finish in their respective position. North Central College secured victory with a score of 60 points and UW-Whitewater came second with 90 points.
Looking ahead, both teams will compete at St. James Farm in Warrenville for the CCIW Championships on Saturday, October 28.
