After a two-week break, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete at the Redbird Invite on Friday, September 15. The event will take place at Illinois State's Weibring Golf Course in Normal, Illinois.

The Redbird Invite includes 13 institutions from NCAA Division I, Division III, and junior colleges. The women's 6,000-meter race begins at 5 p.m., followed by the men's 8,000-meter race at 5:45 p.m.

In recent rankings by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Midwest regional rankings, the IWU women's team is ranked No. 10. Wartburg College holds the top spot and will also participate in this meet.

Sophomore Adriana Crabtree from Normal, Illinois, and junior Annalese Chudy from Libertyville, Illinois aim to continue their strong performances after securing top-10 finishes at Millikin's H.W. Wright Classic on September 1. Seniors Amanda Wilson and Tia Hardt finished sixth and seventh in team scoring respectively during that event. Sophomore Brooke Nazos completed the team's scoring positions.

On the men's side, junior Nick Fisch was the leading finisher for IWU with a time of 21:06.40 for eighth place overall. Senior Josh Tong placed tenth in team scoring.

Both teams achieved second place in their respective standings during their last competition.

Results from this meet will be available on IWUsports.com after both races conclude.
