The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's wrestling programs have announced their 2024 team awards, marking a significant year for both teams. This season was the inaugural year for the women's wrestling team and saw the return of the men's wrestling program after nearly four decades.

Jess Baer, a senior from Normal, Illinois, received the Coaches Appreciation Award for her dedication as the first female wrestler in the program's history. On the men's side, seniors Sebastian Chisari and Jonathan Rios were also honored with Coaches Appreciation Awards. Chisari competed at 197 pounds in three tournaments, while Rios wrestled at 125 pounds across six tournaments, finishing fourth at the Dubuque Invite.

Junior transfer Bobby Conroy was named Most Valuable Wrestler and shared Rookie of the Year honors with freshman Austin Johnston. Conroy achieved a 16-9 record at 184 pounds and became the program's first All-CCIW honoree since its return. Johnston, competing at 133 pounds, was recognized not only as co-rookie of the year but also received the Wrestling Leadership Award and Most Falls award.

Sophomore Jaxson Roberts and freshman Evan Sparenberg were awarded Most Improved Wrestler. Roberts joined late after football season and competed in four tournaments at 141 pounds. Sparenberg participated in all seven tournaments this season at 285 pounds.

Junior Leonardo Reyes earned the Highest GPA Award as a neuroscience major while competing at 133 pounds in three tournaments.

Head Coach Brett Robbins lettered ten athletes this season and will see eight returning for next year's competition.
