The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team faced a narrow defeat against Carroll University, losing 1-0 at Schneider Field in Waukesha, Wisconsin, on Saturday, October 7. This result places the Titans at a season record of 1-11-1 and a conference record of 0-4-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW). Meanwhile, Carroll University improved to an overall record of 8-4-1 and remains unbeaten in the CCIW with a 3-0-1 standing.

Throughout much of the first half, Illinois Wesleyan managed to hold off Carroll despite being outshot 8-0 and trailing in corner kicks by four. However, Carroll's Brielle Ingalsbee scored what would be the decisive goal in the 41st minute.

In the second half, Illinois Wesleyan made efforts to level the score with five shots compared to Carroll's seven and led in corner kicks with four against three. Goalkeeper Madalyn Buxton recorded four saves during the match. Tegan Timerman and Sophie Lampert each contributed two shot attempts for their team.

Looking ahead, Illinois Wesleyan will return to Neis Field on Wednesday, October 11 for a nonconference game against UW-Whitewater scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
