The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team achieved a significant victory on Senior Day, defeating North Park University 1-0 in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) match. The game, held on October 14, marked the first conference win for Illinois Wesleyan this season.

The Titans improved their record to 2-11-2 overall and 1-4-1 in CCIW play, moving up to seventh place in the conference standings. Meanwhile, North Park fell to eighth with a record of 2-6-5 overall and 0-3-2 in the CCIW.

During the first half, Illinois Wesleyan dominated with a lead of 12 shots to four and three corner kicks to one. One of these corner kicks resulted in the game's only goal when Sawyer White delivered an accurate pass that junior Audrey Hofstetter converted into a goal at the 27th minute.

Despite North Park's aggressive attempt with 16 shots in the second half compared to three by Illinois Wesleyan, they were unable to break through the Titans' defense. Freshman goalkeeper Adriana Ruffolo had an impressive performance, saving six shots on goal during the second half.

Junior Madalyn Buxton and sophomore Jenna Gravitt led Illinois Wesleyan's offensive efforts with three shots each. Several other players contributed with two shots each.

Looking ahead, the Titans are set to face Elmhurst University at Neis Field on Wednesday, October 18.
