After falling behind early, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team managed to secure a draw against the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. The match, held at Neis Field on October 11, ended in a 1-1 tie.

The Warhawks took an early lead with a goal just three minutes into the game. Emily Thill assisted Megan Howard for what would be UW-Whitewater's only goal. Despite six more attempts in the first half, they were unable to score again.

Adriana Ruffolo, a freshman from Bloomingdale, Illinois, made her debut as goalkeeper for Illinois Wesleyan and recorded four saves in the first half.

In contrast to their single shot in the first half, the Titans increased their offensive efforts after halftime with nine shots compared to four by UW-Whitewater. In the 89th minute, junior Sammie Shanks from Bloomington turned a long pass into a scoring opportunity. She raced downfield and sent the ball past the Warhawk keeper to equalize.

With this result, Illinois Wesleyan's record stands at 1-11-2 overall and 0-4-1 in conference play. Meanwhile, UW-Whitewater holds a 5-5-3 record overall and 1-1-1 in their conference.

The Titans will next face North Park University at home on October 14 for Senior Day. The event will begin shortly before their scheduled kickoff at Neis Field.
