The Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team is preparing for a significant College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin matchup as they head to North Central College. The game is scheduled for Wednesday, April 24, at 7 p.m. in Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.

The Titans, holding a 7-7 overall record and a 2-2 standing in the CCIW, are coming off a strong performance against Elmhurst University with a decisive 16-6 victory on April 17. Senior Britney Maldonado from Hoffman Estates, Illinois, achieved a milestone by breaking the single-season points record previously set by current head coach Grainne Kelly in 2018. Maldonado's final point during the game brought her season total to 97 points. Sophomore Devon Hanson from Waukesha, Wisconsin, also made history by surpassing the single-season caused turnovers record with her season total reaching 43.

Maldonado has been leading the Titans offensively this season. She ranks third nationally in assists and assists per game while being seventh nationwide in total points with her tally of 97. Her average of 6.93 points per game places her eighth nationally. Following her lead are sophomore Carleigh Fountain from Orland Park, Illinois, with 37 points and junior Mia Fiandaca from St. Charles, Illinois, who has accumulated 34 points.

On defense, Hanson leads the team with an impressive number of draw controls and ground balls. The Titan defense has collectively caused a record-breaking number of turnovers this season—236 in total—with their average per game ranking second nationally.

In goalkeeping duties for IWU is junior Bri Kiser from Crown Point, Indiana, who has amassed over 100 saves throughout the season. Junior Lizzie Rymarcsuk from Lake Zurich, Illinois has also contributed significantly with recent performances yielding a .500 save percentage.

Historically against North Central College, IWU holds a favorable series advantage of nine wins to one loss since their first meeting in IWU's inaugural season in 2015. In their last encounter on April 12, 2023, IWU secured an emphatic victory over NCC with an 18-8 scoreline.

North Central enters this contest following an 18-6 defeat against Carthage College on April 20.
