Senior athlete Britney Maldonado has been recognized as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this season. This announcement was made by the league on Tuesday, April 30.
Maldonado, a student from Hoffman Estates, Illinois, attending James B. Conant High School, is now the first player in CCIW history to receive four offensive weekly awards in a single season. She joins an elite group of athletes who have achieved four weekly awards overall in conference history. Previously, Carroll's Clara Jelacic received four defensive player of the week titles in 2022, while Maddie Griffin earned three defensive honors and two offensive awards in 2017.
During a successful week for her team, Maldonado played a key role in securing a 2-0 record and helping her team to tie for second place in the CCIW standings. This performance earned them the No. 3 seed for the tournament. Over these games, she accumulated 21 points with nine goals and 12 assists, averaging 10.5 points per game alongside three ground balls, three caused turnovers, and one draw control.
In a game against North Central on Wednesday, April 24, Maldonado achieved an impressive 11 points through four goals and seven assists. She also contributed defensively with one ground ball and two caused turnovers. Her performance broke the CCIW's single-season assist record previously set by Augustana's Hilary Kargl in 2015.
On Saturday, April 27, during Senior Day against Augustana, Maldonado scored her milestone 100th career goal contributing five goals and five assists leading to a decisive victory of 22-2.
The Titans are set to compete against Carthage College at Art Keller Field on Wednesday night, May 1st at 6 p.m., as they advance to the CCIW Tournament Semifinals.
