The Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team is set to begin its College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin schedule against the University of Chicago. The game will take place on Saturday, April 6, at Amos Alonzo Stagg Field, starting at 1 p.m.

The Titans finished their non-conference games with a match against Lake Forest College on April 3. Senior Britney Maldonado and sophomore Sadie Newton each scored three goals in that game.

Maldonado is notable for her national rankings, being second in assists (46) and assists per game (4.60). She also ranks fifth nationally in total points with 78 and fourth in points per game at 7.80. She is close to breaking the program's single-season assist record held by Sam Bidlack since 2018.

Junior Mia Fiandaca leads the team with 31 goals and has accumulated 34 points this season. Sophomore Devon Hanson contributes significantly with 27 points and has led the team in draw controls with 53 so far.

In goal, junior Bri Kiser has recorded a .385 save percentage with 94 saves this season. On defense, Fiandaca leads with 29 caused turnovers followed closely by Hanson who has caused 28 turnovers.

The upcoming match will be the eighth meeting between IWU and Chicago, with Chicago holding a slight edge in their series history at four wins to three losses. In their last encounter on May 3, 2023, Chicago won decisively to move forward in the CCIW Tournament Championship.

Spectators can attend the match despite ongoing renovations at Stagg Field which have removed the main bleachers but added temporary seating arrangements for fans. The University of Chicago will offer a live stream of the event without play-by-play commentary.
