The Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team is set to begin a series of three consecutive away games with a non-conference match against the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. The game is scheduled for Saturday, March 30, at 1 p.m. at Smith Stadium in Ramer Field.

The Titans, holding a record of 5-3, are coming off a recent 20-14 defeat against the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on March 23. Senior Britney Maldonado led her team with four goals in that match. Juniors Mia Fiandaca and Avery Setzler, along with sophomore Devon Hanson, each contributed three points. Setzler also achieved a career-high five caused turnovers during the game.

Maldonado is having an impressive senior season, leading the nation with 42 assists and nearing the Titans' season record. She ranks fifth nationally with 68 points and third with an average of 8.50 points per game. Fiandaca leads the team in goals with 29 and has accumulated 32 points overall.

Hanson leads the team in draw controls with 47 this season, followed by Fiandaca's 32 and Sadie Newton's 31. Junior Bri Kiser has collected a team-high of 28 ground balls.

Defensively, IWU leads the nation in caused turnovers per game, averaging 18.63. Fiandaca and Hanson lead their team in this category as well.

In goal, Kiser has played every minute for the Titans this season, recording 72 saves over her time on the field.

This upcoming game marks the fourth meeting between IWU and UW-River Falls in program history. The Titans currently have a slight edge in their past encounters with two wins to one loss. In their last meeting on March 31, 2023, IWU secured a victory with Fountain scoring six goals and contributing seven points overall.

UW-River Falls recently improved their record to 4-2 after defeating Milwaukee School of Engineering on March 19. They are scheduled to play Carroll University before facing IWU.
