The Illinois Wesleyan University softball team celebrated Senior Day with a commanding sweep over Carroll University at Inspiration Field. The Titans secured an 8-0 victory in the first game and followed it up with an 18-0 win, enhancing their overall record to 24-9 and their College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) standing to 10-2. Carroll University's record fell to 11-25, including a 4-10 mark in the CCIW.

In the opening game, Illinois Wesleyan took an early lead thanks to junior Jen Kuhn's run-scoring single after sophomore Anna Beckman reached base. Freshman Elyssa Stenger extended the lead with a bases-loaded walk. The Titans added another run in the fourth inning through Casey Wissmiller's RBI single. A five-run rally in the fifth inning, highlighted by Megan Fontanetta's delayed steal and further hits from Beckman, Hailey Milgazo, Kuhn, and Wissmiller, sealed the game at 8-0.

Pitcher Certa contributed three strikeouts in her complete game effort, improving her season record to 13-2.

The second game saw an explosive performance from Illinois Wesleyan's offense. Senior Hope Yeoman had a standout day alongside Bailey Turner and Kuhn, each hitting home runs. Kuhn achieved a career-high six RBIs and nearly hit for the cycle with her 4-for-5 performance. Yeoman and Turner both drove in five runs each.

Sophomore Caroline Gatchell pitched all five innings for Illinois Wesleyan in this match-up, allowing only two hits while striking out two batters to bring her season record to 7-5.

Before the games began, Illinois Wesleyan honored its senior class: Hope Yeoman, Priscilla Peek, Isabelle Piwowarczyk, Megan Fontanetta, Maya Black, and Bailey Turner.

The Titans will have some time off before they travel for their final two CCIW doubleheaders against Wheaton College on May 3rd.
