The Illinois Wesleyan University softball team is set to face Coe College in a doubleheader at Inspiration Field on April 24. The Titans, holding a 21-8 record, recently achieved sweeps against Carthage and North Park. Meanwhile, Coe College enters the matchup with a 24-6 record and a five-game winning streak.
Historically, Coe leads the all-time series against Illinois Wesleyan, having won eight out of fourteen encounters. Their last meeting took place in St. Louis in March 2023, where Coe secured victories with scores of 4-3 and 2-1.
Key players for the Titans include freshman Hailey Milgazo from Poway, California, who boasts a .480 batting average and leads the team with 47 hits and 13 stolen bases. Junior Jen Kuhn from Normal, Illinois has also been impressive this season with a .438 batting average and leads the team in doubles.
In pitching, sophomore Gianna Certa from Third Lake, Illinois has been recognized as CCIW Pitcher of the Week for two consecutive weeks. She holds an earned run average of 1.56 and has recorded an 11-2 win-loss record this season.
