Freshman goalkeeper Grace Kiewiet led the Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Wheaton College on Wednesday night at Neis Field. The match was part of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play. This win improved IWU's record to 3-7-1, while Wheaton fell to 4-7-1.

Kiewiet faced a challenging game, with Wheaton doubling IWU's total shots at 24 compared to IWU's 12. Despite this, Kiewiet managed to stop all eight shots on target from Wheaton, securing her second career shutout. The freshman goalkeeper and the Titan defense successfully defended against eight corner kicks from the Thunder.

The game's first goal came early when senior Tegan Timerman crossed into the box for junior Sammie Shanks, who passed it back to junior Bree Cordray. Cordray scored just over six minutes into the game, giving IWU a 1-0 lead.

Less than a minute later, freshman Liza Wiley drew a foul that set up another scoring opportunity. Sophomore Ava Mapes sent the ball into the box where it was cleared but found by freshman Keira Robinson. Wiley then scored her first goal of the game by heading it into the net at 7:02, increasing IWU's lead to 2-0.

In the second half, Shanks assisted Wiley for her second goal in the 49th minute, securing a comfortable lead for IWU at 3-0.

The Titans are scheduled to face North Park University on Saturday at Holmgren Athletic Complex in Chicago.
