After a successful homecoming match against Carthage College, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team is set to face Wheaton College on Wednesday, October 9. The game will take place at Joe Bean Stadium at 7 p.m.

The Titans hold an unbeaten record of 7-0-2 and have secured one victory in league play. Meanwhile, the Thunder has a season record of 6-4-1 and are undefeated in conference matches with two wins. Wheaton recently claimed a narrow 1-0 win over North Park University.

In their recent encounter with Carthage on October 5, Illinois Wesleyan made a remarkable comeback. Trailing by three goals early in the second half, they scored four times within 20 minutes to take the lead. Although Carthage equalized later, senior Mush Bakridan's free-kick goal sealed a thrilling 5-4 victory for the Titans. Bakirdan's performance earned him the title of CCIW Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, October 8.

Historically, Wheaton leads the series against Illinois Wesleyan with a record of 32-5-1. Their last meeting ended in a draw during the CCIW tournament semifinals, where IWU triumphed over Wheaton in penalty kicks to advance to the finals. In that match, then-freshman Matthew Perchik scored early for IWU, while Davis Quarles and Sam Kedzior played pivotal roles in securing the victory.
