After a recent victory against Eureka College, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team is preparing for its second home game of the season. The Titans will face Blackburn College on Sunday, September 8, with kickoff scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

In their last match, the Titans secured a win over Eureka in a tightly contested game. The score remained 0-0 until freshman Ben Lyons attempted a shot in the 78th minute. Although his effort was saved by the Red Devils' goalkeeper, fellow freshman Elsworth McIntosh capitalized on the rebound to score, leading to a 1-0 victory for Illinois Wesleyan. This result leaves the Titans with a record of 1-0-1 this season.

Blackburn College is still searching for its first win of the season and currently holds a record of 0-1-2. The Beavers drew their first two matches against Anderson and Earlham with scores of 1-1 but suffered a 2-0 defeat to Cornell College on Thursday night. Before facing Illinois Wesleyan, Blackburn will play Knox College on Friday night.

The history between Illinois Wesleyan and Blackburn dates back to 1988, with Illinois Wesleyan holding an overall record of 12 wins and three losses against Blackburn. Their most recent encounter was in 2003 when Illinois Wesleyan won with a scoreline of 3-2.

Sunday's game will take place at Neis Field at Illinois Wesleyan University. Live statistics and streaming options are available through links provided on the men's soccer schedule page at iwusports.com.
