The Illinois State men's golf team concluded its 2023-24 season at the 2024 MVC Championship in Sunrise Beach, Missouri. At the event's banquet, senior Valentin Peugnet and junior Alex McCulla received All-MVC honors, and head coach Ray Kralis was named MVC Coach of the Year.
Parker Wisdom led the team with a three-round total of 225, securing a 27th place finish. Felix van Dijk tied for 30th with a score of 227, followed closely by McCulla with a 228, tying for 32nd. TJ Barger posted a score of 232 to tie for 36th place, while Peugnet ended with a score of 236, tying for 43rd.
Overall, the Redbirds finished eighth in the tournament with a combined score of 907. Southern Illinois claimed victory with an overall score of 856. The teams finishing ahead of Illinois State included Missouri State (864), Valparaiso (868), Murray State (879), Drake (883), Belmont (888), and Evansville (905). Illinois State outperformed Bradley (911) and Northern Iowa (914).
On the final day, van Dijk and Wisdom each shot a one-over-par round of 73. Wisdom achieved six birdies and six pars during his round, while van Dijk recorded four birdies and ten pars. Both McCulla and Barger completed their rounds with scores of five-over-par 77. Barger made two birdies along with twelve pars; McCulla scored an eagle on the par-four seventh hole accompanied by one birdie and ten pars. Peugnet's final round featured two birdies and seven pars resulting in an overall score of 82.
