The Illinois Wesleyan University track and field teams participated in the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. On the second day of the event, both men's and women's teams secured five top-15 finishes.
Sophomore Jahari Scott achieved a personal best in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.96 seconds, placing him 12th overall and fifth in IWU history. He also competed in the long jump, finishing 18th with a mark of 6.59 meters. Freshman Carson Green participated in both events as well, securing 19th place in the long jump and 32nd in the 100m dash.
In other events, sophomore Joe Freedman finished 23rd in the 100m dash with a time of 11.10 seconds, while freshman Cole Marshall placed 55th. Freshman Yae Hosea finished tenth overall in the men's open 400-meter dash with a time of 52.20 seconds. Senior Joshua Klein threw for a distance of 30.21 meters to finish 42nd in the men's javelin.
On the women's side, junior Annalese Chudy recorded the fourth-fastest time out of forty competitors in the women's 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:21.35. Freshman Olivia Skibinski finished her race at position number fifty-two out of seventy-eight competitors in the women's 100-meter dash with a time of 13.22 seconds. Junior Emma McGrath achieved seventh place in the open women's 800-meter run.
The Titans are set to conclude their spring break trip on Saturday, March 16, which marks the final day of this invitational event.
