The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team is set to travel to Wisconsin for two College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin matches on April 19-20. The Titans, holding a record of 9-6 overall and 2-2 in the conference, will face Carroll University on Friday at 4 p.m., followed by a match against Carthage College on Saturday at noon.

Recently, the Titans experienced a defeat against Augustana College on April 13, with a score of 9-0. Notable performances included sophomore Ian Turnbull's effort at No. 1 singles, where he won the first set but ultimately lost in the super tiebreaker. Freshman Thad Dillow also went through three sets at No. 4 singles but was unable to secure a victory.

The upcoming match against Carroll University marks the 12th meeting between the teams since their first encounter in 1990. Illinois Wesleyan holds a narrow lead in the series with six wins to Carroll's five and has emerged victorious in their last four meetings. In their most recent clash on April 16, 2023, IWU won decisively with an 8-1 scoreline.

Carthage College will host Illinois Wesleyan after playing Millikin University on Friday night. Historically, Carthage has dominated their encounters with IWU, winning 29 out of the previous 35 matches since they first met in 1991. The Firebirds secured their latest win against UW-Stevens Point on April 13, improving their record to 18-4 overall and maintaining a strong position within the conference.
