The Illinois Wesleyan University track and field teams delivered strong performances at the Keck DIII Select held on Senior Day, February 3, inside the Shirk Center in Bloomington, Illinois. Both men's and women's teams secured fifth-place finishes amidst a competitive field.
On the men's side, IWU accumulated 57.5 points. Illinois State University led with 118 points, followed by Dubuque University with 83. The women also saw ISU leading with 118 points and Washington University in St. Louis close behind with 105; IWU scored 21 points for fifth place.
Freshman Imani Ogunribido from Hanover Park excelled in the triple jump, achieving a personal-best of 11.70m (38'4.75"), securing second place in the event. This performance ranks third in IWU history and is the twelfth-best nationally in Division III this season. Senior Lauren Wong took fifth place with a jump of 10.91m (35'9.50").
Sophomore Adriana Crabtree from Normal showcased her talent in the mile run, clocking a personal-best time of 5:01.35 to secure second place, marking it as the fastest time within the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin by over six seconds.
Junior Carlyssa King achieved sixth place in weight throw with a toss of 14.83m (48'9"). Senior Amanda Wilson placed eighth in the women's 3,000-meter race with a time of 11:18.85.
Sophomore Evan Lowder claimed victory for IWU in the men's 400-meter race with a time of 49.94 seconds—the team's only event win during this meet.
Freshman Ethan Godsey marked his best triple jump performance at second place with a leap of 13.40m (43'11.75"), earning him fourth position within CCIW rankings.
In pole vault events, sophomore Isaac Whitaker achieved a personal-best clearance at fifth place—surpassing his coach Jon Blome's record—to take over third spot historically for IWU.
Notable third-place finishes included junior Ernie Waterson's performance in the mile run and sophomore Jahari Scott's improvement to seven seconds flat during finals for third overall finish in men's sprints.
Illinois Wesleyan will host their next competition at Titan Open on February 10th inside Shirk Center starting at approximately ten forty-five AM.
