Illinois Wesleyan track team wins nine events at Friday Night Tri meet

The Illinois Wesleyan University track and field teams secured nine individual victories at the Friday Night Tri meet held on February 16 at the Shirk Center in Bloomington, Illinois. Competing against Millikin University and Heartland Community College, both the men's and women's teams demonstrated strong performances.

On the men's side, freshman Adam Beasley from Bloomington recorded a high jump of 2.04 meters, marking the fourth-best in school history and placing him eighth in Division III rankings. Freshman Matt Lindberg achieved a 1.93-meter jump, while fifth-year Drew Tatlock cleared 1.88 meters.

In women's events, freshman Imani Ogunribido from Hanover Park won first place in the triple jump with a personal-best of 11.73 meters, ranking her 14th in Division III. Senior Lauren Wong took second place with a season-best mark of 11.41 meters. Freshman Lauryn Moore won the women's shot put with a throw of 10.94 meters.

Sophomore Zack Daniel claimed victory in the men's mile with a time of 4:24.22. Junior Alex Harvey and freshman Matthew Hyland finished first and second respectively in the men's 60m hurdles.

Junior Matthew Wagner secured first place in the men's shot put with a throw of 12.85 meters, while junior CJ Ladewig posted a career-best weight throw of 16.34 meters. Junior Sam Okewole achieved victory in the men's triple jump with a season-best jump of 13.35 meters.

The Titans also excelled in sprint events, sweeping the top three positions in the women's 60m dash with personal bests by Bella Gonzalez, Paige Griffin, and Jahael Paul. Senior Peyton Pollman won the women's 400m race with a time of 1:02.01.

Looking ahead, "the Titans hit the road for the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship hosted by North Central College," starting on February 23 and concluding on February 24 in Naperville, Illinois.
