The match, which took place on Saturday, October 26, saw the Titans lose with a score of 2-0. This result maintained Carroll University's unbeaten record in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) play.
Before the game commenced, Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU) recognized its senior players: Tegan Timerman from Peoria, Laci Jerkatis from New Lenox, Carla Martinez from Normal, and Kayla Borg from McHenry. These players have been part of teams that won two CCIW Regular Season titles, one CCIW Tournament Championship, and participated in an NCAA Tournament.
During the match, IWU's freshman goalkeeper Grace Kiewet made ten saves as the team was outshot 21-15 by Carroll. The Titans managed five shots on target compared to Carroll's twelve. Additionally, Carroll had a significant advantage in corner kicks with nine to IWU's two.
Carroll scored their first goal in the 42nd minute after a balanced first half where IWU attempted seven shots to Carroll's eleven. A penalty kick early in the second half allowed Carroll to secure their victory with a second goal.
The Titans will conclude their season by hosting Millikin University on Wednesday, October 30. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m. at Neis Field.
