Illinois Wesleyan achieves six all-conference finishes at CCIW championships

Illinois Wesleyan University's cross country teams had notable performances at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships held at St. James Farm in Warrenville, Illinois, on November 2. The women's team secured a second-place finish with 65 points, trailing behind Wheaton College's winning score of 50 points. The men's team improved from last year's performance by finishing sixth with 160 points, while North Central clinched its 50th consecutive CCIW title with 25 points.

In the women's six-kilometer race, junior Adriana Crabtree and senior Annalese Chudy led the Titans' efforts. Crabtree finished third with a time of 22:18.87 after overtaking two runners in the final stretch. Chudy placed ninth, marking her third All-CCIW First Team accolade with a time of 22:49.92.

Freshman Maddie Morgan and senior Emma McGrath earned All-CCIW Second Team honors by finishing in personal-best times of 23:04.26 and 23:13.04 respectively, placing them in the top-20 alongside junior Brooke Nazos who completed her race in a season-best time of 23:20.67.

For the men's eight-kilometer race, senior Nick Fisch led IWU by securing an All-CCIW Second Team spot after finishing 16th with a career-best time of 25:16.66. Senior Ernie Waterson and junior Seth Hamerski also achieved personal bests, placing them in positions 35th and 37th respectively.

The Titans will continue their season at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Championships on November 16 in Rock Island, Illinois.

The Men's CCIW Student-Athlete of the Meet was awarded to Emerald Svienty from North Central, while Oscar Frontjes from North Central received recognition as Men's CCIW First-Year Student-Athlete of the Meet.

On the women's side, Emma Odle from Augustana was named Women's CCIW Student-Athlete of the Meet and Keagan Knue from Carroll earned Women's CCIW First-Year Student-Athlete honors.
