Both the Illinois House and Senate are set to reconvene in Springfield next week for the fall Veto Session. The Caucus Blog of the Illinois House Republicans provides insights on what to expect during this session.

Concerns have been raised regarding state spending. "The Governor and supermajority Democrats have spent taxpayer dollars recklessly, creating new state programs with temporary funds and relying on gimmicks to paint a rosy picture of Illinois finances," according to critics. It is noted that Illinois residents face high tax rates, and there is a projected $3 billion budget shortfall by 2026, as reported by WBEZ Chicago.

In education news, the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) offers free assistance with college and financial aid applications through workshops held statewide. This initiative aims to support students and families during this critical period.

For those seeking energy assistance, applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) are currently open in Illinois. Capitol News Illinois has reported on this opportunity for low-income residents needing utility support.

In District 105, Rep. Tipsword expressed gratitude towards Trajectory Energy Partners for their investments in Marshall County communities. Appreciation was also extended to the North Central Illinois Council of Governments (NCICG) for its service over 45 years under CEO Kevin Lindeman's leadership. NCICG manages nearly $80 million in grant-funded projects.

Motorists in District 105 should be aware that beginning November 10, traffic on eastbound U.S. 150 will shift lanes near McClugage Bridge due to construction expected to last about a month.

Finally, recognition was given to farmers in District 105 for concluding the harvest season and contributing significantly to global food supply.
