The Illinois Wesleyan University swim and dive teams faced a challenging meet against Augustana College on November 9, 2024. The Vikings emerged victorious in both the men's and women's competitions with scores of 181-27 and 165-52, respectively.
On the women's team, sophomore Samantha Borre, junior Kayleigh Kuschewski, and freshmen Isabella Cano and Julia Jozwiak competed in the 200-yard medley relay. They secured second place with a time of 2:00.70, improving their previous performance by 2.79 seconds.
Junior Natalie Porter won the 1000-yard freestyle event with a time of 11:10.52. Kuschewski achieved second-place finishes in both the 200-yard individual medley (2:21.02) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:02.50). Cano also took second place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.74.
For the men's team, Carter Dilger, along with freshmen Tate Thomas, Ben Huk, and Jacob Nacional participated in the 200-yard medley relay and finished third overall with a time of 1:46.89. Dilger also earned second place in the 100-yard butterfly clocking at 53.91.
In diving events, freshman Sarah Worsley placed second in the women's one-meter diving event with a score of 147.45 points, adding significantly to her previous meet's score by gaining an additional 41.65 points. Freshman David Ren claimed first place on the men's side with a total score of 165.50 points.
The Titans are scheduled to compete again at home on November 23 for the IWU Invite at Fort Natatorium starting at 1 p.m.
