The Illinois Wesleyan University cross country teams have achieved notable recognition with four athletes earning All-Region honors from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. This acknowledgment follows their performances at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Championships held on November 16.
Seniors Annalese Chudy and Nick Fisch, junior Adriana Crabtree, and freshman Maddie Morgan were named to the all-region list. For Chudy, this is her third such honor, while it marks Crabtree's second time receiving this accolade. Fisch and Morgan are first-time recipients of the distinction.
Crabtree achieved a significant milestone by finishing 13th overall at the regional championships, marking the highest finish for a Titan since Erin McCarey in 2015. Her performance secured her an at-large bid to compete in the NCAA Cross Country Championships scheduled for November 23 in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Morgan delivered an impressive debut at the regional championships with a personal-best time that placed her 25th overall. Chudy concluded her collegiate cross country career with a third all-region honor after securing 27th place. Notably, she was the first sophomore from Illinois Wesleyan to qualify for national championships consecutively in previous years.
Fisch's performance earned him his inaugural all-region honor with a 32nd-place finish. He became the highest-placing male Titan at regionals since Tim Hachmeister's fifth-place finish in 2002.
In total, 21 student-athletes from the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin received all-region honors, with Illinois Wesleyan leading among women’s selections and North Central among men’s selections.
Crabtree will represent Illinois Wesleyan at the upcoming NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships on November 23 in Terre Haute. The women's race is set to begin at 11 a.m., followed by the men's race at noon Eastern Time.
