Illinois Wesleyan women's tennis faces crucial CCIW matches against Wheaton and North Central

The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team is set to compete against Wheaton College and North Central College in upcoming matches as part of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. The Titans, holding a record of 6-4 overall and 2-4 in conference play, will face Wheaton on Friday, October 11 at 4:30 p.m., followed by a match against North Central on Saturday, October 12 at 9 a.m.

In their recent performance, IWU secured a victory over Monmouth College with a score of 6-1. Sophomore Carly Edwards achieved a decisive win in the No. 6 singles match, while the doubles team of Kate Christian and Gabi Lipske won their match with a score of 6-0.

The Titans have historically struggled against Wheaton, with only one win in their past meetings since the series began in 1989. Their last victory was recorded in 1994. They aim to end this streak and secure Wheaton's first home loss in their encounters.

Against North Central, IWU has been more successful historically but has lost the last eight matches. North Central recently faced defeat against Wheaton with a close score of 4-3. The Titans are seeking their first conference win for October during these matches.
