The Titans come into the match with a record of 3-2 overall and 1-2 in the CCIW after defeating Millikin University 6-1 on Wednesday, September 18. Sophomore Amber Ehrlich secured the win at No. 2 singles with scores of 6-4, 6-2. Additionally, Lipske won her No. 2 singles sets 6-1, 6-2, while Christian triumphed in her No. 4 singles match with scores of 6-1, 6-0.

This upcoming encounter marks the 35th meeting between IWU and Elmhurst since their series began in 1989. Illinois Wesleyan leads the series with a record of 26 wins to Elmhurst's eight and has won the last two meetings during the current season. In their most recent clash during the CCIW Tournament "play-in match" on April 14, IWU emerged victorious with a decisive score of 9-0.

Elmhurst enters this matchup seeking its first win of the season after suffering a defeat against Augustana College on Tuesday, September 17.
