The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team is set to face Millikin University in a midweek College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin match on Wednesday, September 18. The match will take place at the Evergreen Racquet Club, beginning at 4 p.m.

Illinois Wesleyan, currently holding a record of 2-2 overall and 0-2 in conference play, is coming off a recent 5-2 loss against North Park University. During that match, sophomore Amber Ehrlich from Springfield managed to secure a win at No. 1 singles. Ehrlich won the first set with a score of 6-4 but lost the second set 6-2 before clinching victory in the tiebreaker with a score of 10-5.

In another singles match, sophomore Olivia Bell from Bloomington started strong by winning her first set without dropping a game. However, her opponent Katja Carlberg took the second set after a close battle ending in a tiebreaker. Bell ultimately won the deciding tiebreaker with an 11-9 score.

This upcoming contest marks the 33rd meeting between Illinois Wesleyan and Millikin since their series began in 1989. Although Illinois Wesleyan leads the series with a record of 24 wins to Millikin's nine, Millikin has emerged victorious in their last five encounters. Their most recent matchup was on September 19, 2023, when Millikin secured a win with a score of 6-3.

Millikin arrives for this match following their own defeat against Augustana College on September 14, where they lost all seven matches.

Updates and results from this match will be available on iwusports.com after its conclusion.
