The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team faced a setback against Carroll University in their College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin match on Sunday, October 6, in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The Titans' defeat resulted in a 5-4 overall record and a 2-4 standing in CCIW play. Meanwhile, Carroll University improved to a 4-5 overall record and a 3-4 position within the league.

Sophomore Olivia Bell from Bloomington, Illinois, secured the only victory for IWU at No. 4 singles with scores of 7-6, 6-2. This win marked her second consecutive success at the No. 4 spot following her previous triumph against Carthage.

Looking ahead, the Titans will return to their home court on Tuesday, October 8, to compete against Monmouth College in a non-league match scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.

In singles competition, Natasa Pupovac of Carroll defeated Amber Ehrlich from IWU with scores of 6-7 (1-7), 6-4, and 1-0 (10-4). Katherine Trifilio bested Gabi Lipske with scores of 6-4 and 6-2. Gracie Niebler overcame Katie Van Heuklon by scoring 2-6, 7-5, and winning the tiebreaker with a score of 10-6. Makayla Counsell won against Kate Christian after three sets with scores of 3-6, 6-3, and finally clinching it at 6-0. Laurel Nelson also triumphed over Angela Zatloka after three sets ending with scores of 3-6, then turning it around with two sets at both ending at six.

In doubles play for Carroll University: Katherine Trifilio paired with Natasa Pupovac defeated Amber Ehrlich and Olivia Bell from IWU by scoring at a decisive margin of six games to three; Makayla Counsell teamed up with Gracie Niebler to secure victory over Kate Christian alongside Gabi Lipske without conceding any games; Erin Horzewski partnered up with Laurel Nelson beating Katie Van Heuklon combined together along Angela Zatloka ending tightly contested matches seven-five.
