The Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball team is set to begin a three-game homestand against Augustana College on January 22 at the Shirk Center. The Titans, ranked No. 5, hold a 14-2 overall record and are tied for first place in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) standings with a 6-1 record. They recently defeated Millikin University with a score of 77-60.

Augustana College arrives in Bloomington with a 10-6 overall record after securing an overtime victory against Carroll. The upcoming game marks the 180th meeting between Illinois Wesleyan and Augustana, with IWU leading the series 100-78.

Illinois Wesleyan Athletic Director Mike Wagner, an alumnus of Augustana, played football for the Vikings during his college years. Meanwhile, Rachel Dawson, athletic trainer for IWU's men's basketball team, previously worked at Augustana.

Freshman Josh Fridman has emerged as a key player for the Titans since taking over as starting point guard. He leads the CCIW in free throw percentage and ranks among the top players in assists and scoring within conference play.

The senior duo of Harrison Wilmsen and Marko Anderson contributes significantly to IWU's performance this season, combining for an average of 17.6 points and 11.7 rebounds per game.

Under head coach Ron Rose's leadership, now in his 18th season, Illinois Wesleyan has achieved notable success including multiple CCIW titles. The team's defense is recognized nationally for its effectiveness.

Senior Nick Roper has delivered impressive performances recently, earning him recognition on Small College Basketball's Bevo Francis Top-100 Watch List.

The Titans excel in rebounding metrics nationally and maintain a strong home-court advantage at the Shirk Center with an .821 win percentage over numerous games.

Following their matchup against Augustana, Illinois Wesleyan will face Wheaton College on January 25 as part of their homestand schedule. This event will also feature recognition of Academic All-America honorees from various sports disciplines during halftime.
