The Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball team has climbed to 11th place in the D3hoops.com Top-25 rankings, following a decisive victory on Senior Day. The Titans moved up two spots in the rankings released on Monday night, February 17, after securing 365 points.
The overall rankings experienced some changes, but the top three positions remained stable. Wesleyan maintained its lead with 623 points and received 24 out of 25 first-place votes. New York University followed in second place with 596 points, while UW-Platteville was third with 581 points and claimed the remaining first-place vote.
Illinois Wesleyan's recent success came after they ended a two-game losing streak by defeating Millikin with a score of 96-60 on February 15. This victory improved their season record to 19-4 and their conference record to 11-3 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW). They are currently the only CCIW school featured in the top-25 rankings, although Carthage is close behind and receiving votes.
The Titans will conclude their home schedule against North Park University on Wednesday, February 19. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tipoff at the Shirk Center.
The D3hoops.com Top-25 poll is determined by a panel consisting of coaches, Sports Information Directors, and media members from across the nation. Points are allocated based on a descending scale starting from 25 for first place.
