The Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team is preparing for a matchup against Aurora University on Saturday, February 22. The game will be held at Spartan Athletic Park in Montgomery, Illinois, and will follow a match featuring the Titan women's team.

The Titans are coming off a successful start to their season at the Music City Classic in Nashville, Tennessee. They achieved victories over Transylvania University with a score of 16-10 and Centre College with a score of 17-10. In the game against Transylvania, eight Titans contributed to the scoring, including freshmen Carlo Adams and Jeremy Langosch who scored their first collegiate goals. Senior Sam Weinberg led defensively with three caused turnovers.

In the game against Centre College, five Titans scored goals. Sophomore Timothy McHugh played a key role by providing five assists and scoring two goals. Junior Karsten Nordlie and senior Nick Schroeder both collected seven ground balls each.

Fifth-year player Gage Black led the Titans during the opening weekend with nine goals and three assists totaling 12 points. McHugh followed closely with 11 points from eight assists and three goals. Schroeder excelled in faceoffs with a .718 percentage, while Weinberg recorded four caused turnovers. Senior Colin Tervo made 25 saves over two games for a .556 save percentage.

Illinois Wesleyan has faced Aurora University 13 times since 2015, holding a series lead of 9-4. The Titans have won their last eight encounters with Aurora, including two victories last season: one regular-season win on March 2, 2024 (24-15), and another in the NCAA Tournament on May 8, 2024 (14-10).
