The Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team concluded their participation in the Westbrook Invitational on Sunday, March 9, finishing in seventh place. The Titans recorded a final round score of 300 at the par-71, 5810-yard Westbrook Village Golf Course, ending the tournament with a two-round total of 610.
Senior Macy Ludwig from Effingham, Illinois tied for 19th place and led the Titans with a total score of 148 over 36 holes. Sophomore Nora Cerroni from Waukesha, Wisconsin and senior Jadyn Spinks from Bloomington, Illinois delivered IWU's best rounds of the day with scores of three-over-par 74s. Cerroni completed the tournament with a score of 155, tying for 34th place, while Spinks finished tied for 42nd with a score of 156.
George Fox University hosted and won the event with an even-par team score of 568. Alison Takamiya and Makensie Toole from George Fox shared medalist honors by finishing seven-under-par (135). Claremont-Mudd Scripps secured second place with a score of 570, followed by Emory in third place at 575.
Looking ahead, the Titans will travel to Palm Desert, California for their next competition at the Augustana (SD) Spring Fling Invite at Desert Willow on Thursday and Friday, March 13-14.
