The Illinois State men's tennis team is set to wrap up its regular season in a home match against the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles. The match will occur on Saturday at the Evergreen Racquet Club with the first serve scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

Previously, the Illinois State team, known as the Birds, played against North Dakota on April 5, resulting in a 5-2 loss. Despite this, the doubles pairing of Adrian Dibildox and Tomas Valencia managed to secure a win with a 6-4 scoreline. Moreover, Christian Capacci and Manuel Pavia triumphed over their counterparts in a closely contested 7 (9) - 6 (7) win. In their singles matches, Caden Scarlett emerged victorious, winning in straight sets against Alex Christos.

The upcoming game is crucial for Illinois State, as it may lead to a spot in the Summit League Championships. Currently, the team holds a 1-3 record in the conference.

The Oral Roberts team is still seeking its first Summit League victory. Most recently, they were defeated by Wichita State. The last win for Oral Roberts against a Division 1 opponent was against Southern Miss on March 3, where Ricardo Filho and Parv Nage shined in both doubles and singles matches.

Historically, Illinois State holds advantages over Oral Roberts, with a 6-1 record. In their previous encounter, Illinois State won 6-1. The rivalry commenced in 2015, with Illinois State winning the initial match.

Post the match, the Illinois State team will await the results of the Summit League Championships scheduled for April 18-19 in Denver.
