Illinois State defeats Evansville 7-1, secures series victory

Illinois State secured a baseball series win against Evansville with a decisive 7-1 victory at Duffy Bass Field. The Redbirds' offense, featuring 14 hits, was spearheaded by Judah Morris, who contributed two hits and four RBIs.

"Senior Tanner Perry was credited with the win after throwing 6.1 innings with one run allowed," while "fellow senior Carter Monke closed it out by recording the final eight outs against the Aces."

Among the top performers, in addition to Morris, were Kyle Gibson, who went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs, and Daniel Pacella, who was 3-for-3 with an RBI. The scoring started with Pacella's RBI in the third inning, followed by a home run from Morris to extend their lead. Additional runs came in the fourth inning through doubles by Gibson and Shai Robison and another RBI from Morris. Evansville's sole run was made with an RBI double in the fifth inning.

Judah Morris noted his third game with three RBIs this year, and Daniel Pacella reached a milestone with 155 career RBIs, extending his on-base streak to 25 games.
